Sheraton lines up Bavarian fest

THE Sheraton Doha is to stage an authentic Bavarian Oktoberfest at the Waterhole lounge on October 2.

The event, which proved to be a huge success last year, is now established as an annual trend, said Marta Andreeva, the hotel’s regional marketing director.

“Apart from being very popular among Western expatriates, OktoberFest is an interesting opportunity to introduce Bavarian folklore and lifestyle to the local community,” said chef Udo, the hotel’s executive chef.

Lasterbacher, a Bavarian band, will be flown in from Germany for the occasion. They are great performers and this is borne out by their numerous songs, yodlers, folk-dances, ‘schuplattlers’, spoon-beating and more, Andreeva pointed out.

The hotel’s native German chefs are preparing a feast of popular Bavarian dishes. Specially imported German beverages will also be served
